The 2017 fire prevention week will be held from October 8 to 14.  This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts, Plan 2 Ways Out.”

As a kick off to fire prevention week, the annual fire truck parade is changing a bit. On Saturday, October 7, 2017 fire trucks will assemble in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:00 pm for public viewing. They will form a parade leaving Wal-Mart at approximately 5:30pm touring the upriver towns and ending in Pictou.

The Trenton Fire Dept. would like to remind everyone to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they turn their clocks back on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Please have your flue cleaned and checked before you start burning wood for another season!

The members of the fire department along with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #29 would like to congratulate Mr. George Vickers the Chase the Ace grand prize winner. Plans are underway to hold another Chase the Ace.

The members of the Trenton Fire Department recently purchased a new computer, a chain saw, a gas detector and calibration system, a complete set of rescue tools (Jaws of Life) and a set of Vetter Bags (rescue tools).  Also ten members received medical first responder training.  All of this was made possible from the proceeds from the Chase the Ace.

Also, several other projects are being researched.

Tickets on the annual freezer full of meat draw will be available soon. The prize includes a deep freezer filled with your winters meats. The cost is 3 tickets for $5.00. The draw will take place just prior to the Christmas holidays!  Please see any member of the Trenton Fire Department to purchase  tickets.
