Trenton welcomes new CAO

For Immediate Release

Re: Trenton welcomes new CAO

Please join me in extending a warm welcome for the newest addition to the Town of Trenton team: Alanna MacDonald, who will serve as the Town’s next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective August 09, 2021.

Alanna brings over 16 years of experience working in municipal government ensuring the interests of the community and citizens are a priority. She completed the National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (Level 1 and II) through Dalhousie University which concentrates on municipal government and the contribution to the development, best practices, and policies of local government.

Most recently serving as the Revenue Manager for the Town of New Glasgow, Alanna already has well-developed relationships with other units in Pictou County and the Property Valuation Services Corporation. She has previously served as secretary for the Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Nova Scotia, a committee member for the Working on Wellness Committee in conjunction with the Nova Scotia Public Health Authority, a committee member for the UNSM Wellness Sub Committee and Chair of the Town of New Glasgow Wellness Committee organizing wellness initiatives for employees of the Town of New Glasgow.

We searched for someone who could facilitate the continued growth and revitalization of our community. With her extensive knowledge and experience, we are confident Alanna will excel in her new leadership role in Trenton and help guide our community positively forward through the challenges and opportunities in the years ahead.

Respectfully,

Mayor Donald Hussher & Trenton Town Council
