2021 Florence Gouthro Memorial Volunteer of the Year Recipient: DONALD CULLEN
The Florence Gouthro Memorial Award is presented to a volunteer who exemplifies the true spirit of volunteerism. We are pleased to announce that Donald Cullen has been chosen as the Town of Trenton Volunteer of the Year for 2021!
Born and raised in Trenton, Donnie returned home from Alberta in 2017. It was at that time he learned that the previous FunFest committee had stepped down and there was a possibility of no festival the next year. He immediately volunteered as Committee Chair and began recruiting a new volunteer committee. He organized fundraisers and sponsors and supported a local band to fill the Trenton Rink for the staple Funfest dance. Apparent at every event throughout the festival, he worked with volunteers and participants alike to ensure they had an enjoyable experience and to solicit feedback so future years would be even better. The Town of Trenton is pleased to celebrate such a passionate & dedicated volunteer as Donnie Cullen!
Due to the COVID-19 situation, we were unable to host the Town's volunteer recognition reception in 2021. We would still like to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of the community groups and volunteers who support our Town every day. Thank you for everything you do for our community!
